Accounting Software

Accounting Software for Restaurant & Food Service Businesses

Keep your books accurate with double-entry accounting, bank reconciliation, and audit-ready financial statements generated automatically from your daily transactions

Most accounting software forces you to enter transactions twice — once in your operations system and again in the accounts. ASTech ERP eliminates this duplication entirely. Every sales invoice, purchase bill, payment, and expense you record in the operations modules creates the corresponding accounting entry automatically. Sales invoices debit accounts receivable and credit sales revenue. Purchase bills credit accounts payable and debit the relevant purchase account. Cash and bank payments settle the open receivables and payables. By the time you want to see your P&L or balance sheet, all the data is already there — no separate bookkeeping effort required. The accounting module follows the double-entry bookkeeping standard. The chart of accounts is pre-configured for Indian businesses with the standard account groups (Direct Income, Indirect Income, Direct Expenses, Indirect Expenses, Current Assets, Fixed Assets, Current Liabilities, Long-term Liabilities, and Capital). You can customise the chart of accounts, create sub-ledgers for specific analysis, and maintain as many bank accounts as needed. Bank statement reconciliation is semi-automated — the system matches transactions to open entries using amount and date, and flags unmatched items for manual review.

Why Restaurant & Food Service Businesses Need Accounting Software

Restaurants, cafes, cloud kitchens, and food courts face unique challenges — fast-paced billing, ingredient cost control, table management, and GST on food orders. ASTech ERP provides a POS designed for food service businesses with features that handle dine-in, takeaway, and delivery billing.

Key Benefits

Automatic bookkeeping from operations

Every invoice, payment, purchase, and expense automatically creates the correct accounting journal entries. No manual double-entry required — your books are always current and accurate.

Real-time P&L and balance sheet

Financial statements are generated on demand from live transaction data. View your P&L for any date range — today, this month, this quarter, or any custom period — with the latest entries included.

Bank reconciliation with smart matching

Import bank statements and the system automatically matches transactions to open entries using amount, date, and reference. Unmatched items are highlighted for review, reducing reconciliation time by 80%.

Audit trail and compliance

Every accounting entry has a timestamp, user identity, and source document reference. The system prevents deletion of posted entries and requires an amendment reason for corrections, maintaining a complete audit trail.

How It Works

1

Transactions create entries automatically

As you create invoices, purchases, and payments in their respective modules, the accounting entries are posted to the ledger automatically. You never need to open a journal and re-enter data.

2

Review the ledger and fix mispostings

Check the day book or individual ledger accounts to review entries. If a transaction was posted to the wrong account, a manual journal entry corrects it with a full audit trail.

3

Reconcile bank accounts monthly

Import your bank statement CSV. The system matches credits and debits to your recorded receipts and payments. Reconcile in minutes and see the closing balance confirmation.

4

Generate financial statements for auditors or tax filing

P&L, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, and Cash Flow statements are generated instantly with date range and cost centre filters. Export to Excel or PDF for sharing with your CA or auditor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does ASTech ERP follow double-entry accounting standards?+
Yes. Every transaction in ASTech ERP creates balanced debit and credit entries following the double-entry bookkeeping standard. The system will not allow posting an unbalanced journal entry, ensuring your trial balance always tallies.
Can I create manual journal entries for adjustments and provisions?+
Yes. The journal entry module allows you to post manual entries for depreciation, provisions, forex adjustments, and other accounting adjustments that do not originate from operational transactions.
How does TDS management work in the accounting module?+
When you record a purchase payment subject to TDS, the system deducts the applicable TDS amount, credits TDS payable, and pays the net amount to the vendor. TDS payable reports show amounts to be deposited by the 7th of the following month.
Can I manage multiple companies or organisations in one account?+
Each organisation in ASTech ERP has a fully separate set of accounts, products, and reports. You can switch between organisations with a single click. There is no data sharing between organisations unless you set it up explicitly.
Does ASTech ERP support the accrual method of accounting?+
Yes. ASTech ERP uses the accrual basis — income is recognised when an invoice is created, not when payment is received. Expenses are recognised when a purchase bill is recorded. This is the standard for GST-registered businesses and gives a true picture of profitability.
