Vyapar Limitations
Designed as a billing app, not a full ERP
Vyapar is excellent for generating GST invoices and tracking basic expenses, but it is not an ERP. It lacks manufacturing, payroll, HR, project billing, and advanced multi-location management — which businesses need as they grow beyond 10 employees or ₹1 crore revenue.
Limited multi-user access and permission controls
Vyapar's multi-user features are basic. You cannot create granular role-based permissions — for example, restricting a sales person to only create invoices without being able to see purchase prices or overall profitability reports.
No built-in payroll functionality
Vyapar does not have a payroll module. Businesses using Vyapar must handle salary calculations, PF, ESI, and TDS in spreadsheets or a separate payroll tool, creating a fragmented workflow.
Reporting capabilities are basic
Vyapar provides standard reports like sales register, purchase register, and outstanding. Advanced analytics — cost centre reports, branch comparisons, profitability per product or customer, and cash flow projections — are not available.
Limited API and integration capabilities

How to Switch from Vyapar to ASTech ERP
Export your data from Vyapar: go to More → Backup & Restore and take a full backup. Additionally, use the Export feature to download your party list (customers and vendors), item list, and transaction history as Excel files.
Clean and prepare your data: Vyapar exports may have duplicate entries or incomplete fields. Review your party list and item list before import, adding HSN codes and missing details where needed.
Import parties into ASTech ERP using the contacts import template. Map Vyapar's party types (customer, supplier, or both) to ASTech ERP's customer and vendor entities.
Import items with their complete product master data including HSN codes, default GST rates, and purchase and sale prices.
Enter opening balances: the party-wise outstanding balances from Vyapar become the opening receivables and payables in ASTech ERP. Enter these as opening balance entries and verify the totals match.
